Cool Down Your Hair With These 5 Gorgeous Autumn Shades!

Autumn is one of the best times of the year. The leaves changes, new clothing styles fill the shelves, and everyone starts to get excited for the impending holiday season. What better time to change up your hair color than this season of change? There are a lot of beautiful fall colors to choose from, so we’ve narrowed down the list for you. Here are five perfectly autumnal shades that you should consider rocking over the next few months!

Toned-Down Brown Hair

If you’ve got fair skin, blue veins, and prefer silver jewelry, you likely have a cool skin tone. Choosing a cooler brown for your fall hair color is the perfect way to compliment cool, fair skin. This lighter, less intense brown shade can still cover up gray hairs (if you’re concerned about that) and will give you a softer brunette look that’s perfect for the crisper nights ahead.

Ashy Blonde Hair

Looking for a blonde that’s just a tad edgier than a warm golden or classic platinum? An ashy blonde color is ideal for those with warm skin tones who want to do something a little different! Ashy blonde hair is achieved by adding a hint of gray on top of the blonde color. This beautiful trend dabbles in the silver/grey/ashy trends of the last few years without going full-on silver.

Maple Hair

Sharing its name with fallen leaves and a sweet, delicious pancake topping, maple hair is the ultimate fall hair color. This shade combines orange and violet tones with dark hair, creating a striking, rich color. It’s a great color option if you’re looking to add dimension to your ‘do. Maple hair looks beautiful on darker, warmer skin tones and will work best on brunettes.

Wine Colored Hair

Burgundy, maroon, and other wine-adjacent shades are autumn staples year after year. If you love these types of shades in a sweater, scarf, or lipstick, why not try one out on your hair? These red shades scream autumn. They also look stunning on almost every skin color because they mix blue and red to create a bold violet undertone.

Honey Hair

Get ready to look like you just came back from the beach even though it’s September. A honey blonde isn’t too cool or too warm– it’s just right. Honey’s gentle golden color does a great job of warming up your complexion, which can prevent the dreaded wash-out if you have pale skin. However, we love this color because it looks incredible on all skin tones, whether you’re fair, olive-skinned, dark, or somewhere in the middle!

Switch Up Your Makeup Look for Fall With These Autumnal Colors!

We’re in the dog days of summer, which means autumn is just around the corner. While it doesn’t get particularly cold here in Dallas, Texas, we still love to welcome in the fall season. A great way to get into the spirit is by changing up your makeup and playing with some autumnal colors! We’ve put together a list of our favorite fall makeup colors for 2018. So hold onto your pumpkin spice latte and check it out!

Shades of Dark Red

Burgundy and other dark red shades are a fall staple. The easiest way to rock this color is on the lips. A dark wine-colored lip never goes out of style and always looks perfectly autumnal. Burgundy, wine, Merlot, and berry shades also all look fabulous on the nails. Want to go a little bolder with red? Try wearing it on your eyes! If deep, dark red makes you a little nervous, don’t worry, there’s a red eyeshadow for everyone. When you’re rocking a dark red eyeshadow, you’re making a statement. That means you can go lighter on the rest of your look. See? Being on-trend isn’t that hard after all!

Orange

Orange is more than just the color of autumn leaves and pumpkins– it can be the main focus of a rockin’ fall makeup look! Whether you choose to keep orange reserved for nails and lips, or you want to try it out on your eyes, this is a perfect fall color. When it comes to orange on the eyelids, less is more. You don’t have to cover your whole lid with neon, traffic cone colored orange (unless you want to). Try swapping your standard bronze colored crease shade for somethin with more of a rust, orange tone. It’s an easy way to add a burst of fall color to your standard eye makeup.

Navy Blue

Blue makeup might remind you of your grandmother, but never fear. Navy blue is the perfect autumnal color for creating a classic smokey eye, no matter what eye color you have. This is a shade that looks great on just about everyone. A matte navy blue eye can be done with a light hand and worn during the day. Want to jazz it up for the evening? Apply more navy shadow with a heavier hand or switch the matte shadow out for something shimmery! You can even try switching your standard black mascara or eyeliner for navy blue tones if you really want to go nuts.

Olive

Too scared to try out a bold emerald green eyeshadow? Try it’s more neutral cousin, olive green. Olive green is a great makeup color choice because it mixes things up with a different color, but it’s also relatively subtle. This color is also neutral enough to complement most skin tones and eye colors, though blue eyes look particularly popping when paired with neutral shades like this. You can easily blend this shade in with your normal browns, bronzes, greys, and beiges to create a beautiful fall smokey eye or a soft daytime look.

Shades of Violet

Violet is another great statement color for fall. Perfect for the eyes, lips, nails, and even cheeks, this vibrant jewel tone is the perfect way to embrace the changing seasons. Anyone can rock violet eyeshadow, but if you’ve got green eyes, brace yourself. Green and violet are complementary colors, so choosing violet eyeshadow can leave you with eyes that are seriously stunning! Purple shades are awesome for fall because they range from bright violets and deep eggplant shades, to romantic lavenders and delicate periwinkles. So pick a violet from the bunch and go for it! It’s a beautiful way to spruce up your makeup for the fall.
